Renesas Issues Notice of Price Increase

Published by North Shore Components on

On November 30, semiconductor manufacturer Renesas Electronics sent a product price increase notice to customers, and the effective date of the price increase is January 1, 2021, according to SemiMediaEdit.

The notice, posted as posted on MarketWatch, mentioned that due to the increase in raw material and packaging costs, Renesas Electronics will increase the prices of some legacy analog and power products. Renesas Electronics also explained that the recent increase in inventory costs and the risk of product transportation have forced the company to raise prices to ensure that these products can continue to be put into production.

The notice also stated that customer orders shipped before January 1, 2021 will receive shipment at the present price. All existing and new orders with shipment on or after January 1, 2021 will be processed at the new price.
